Prayer Requests - Week of 12.14.11

What a wonderful time we had together at the Christmas party/baby shower for Adam and Megan/choir practice! We’re so thankful to the ‘Holy Smokers’ for providing that delicious meal.

Please pray for the following requests. (We don’t post last names or address information on our blog, so click here to email me for the addresses where you can send notes of encouragement.)

Kristin H (alto): My brother Jim's surgery is scheduled for Dec 23 to have the upper lobe of one of his lungs removed. The surgeon will also be 'exploring' to see if there is any cancer in the rest of the lung and if so will remove the entire lung. He will also check the lymph nodes. Please pray for God's hands to work through the surgeon for a successful surgery.

Jim V (tenor): Please pray for my boss Connie S. Her mother Cassie B broke a hip last week and Connie is really being stretched to take care of her mom and run our business. Cassie is going to have a long road to recovery. Please let both of them hear some of our encouraging words and love. Thanks.

Please pray for Sharon M, a member of Brookwood and good friend of several choir members. She is having a serious surgery this Monday (December 19) at Emery Hospital in Atlanta to remove a cyst in her brain. She will be there for about a week.

Also pray for our hearts and the hearts of the congregation to be prepared for the Christmas Eve services and that we will experience God’s presence in a powerful way.

Blessings!

Wed. night was fantastic. I can't think of a more deserving couple than Adam and Megan to have so many people wanting to share in their joy. The children's choir sounded great under the leadership of Ruth Wood. I guess it runs in the family. I am so excited about Christmas Eve services. I think it will be wonderful. I am so proud of each and every one of you who gives so much of themselves to honor God in such a palpable way. What joy we are blessed with. In Him, Alba
