Regarding Prayer Requests

Hi Gang, I just wanted to let you know that I will have very limited access to my emails for a few days. I'll be plugged in again on Thursday, August 4. If you have an urgent prayer request, please send it directly to Joe. Thanks.

I love y'all,

Update: Liz's Aunt

Hi choir family,

I wanted to share the following update from our sweet Liz B (soprano).

Thanks for the prayers and posting.. update: My aunt passed this past Sunday. We are thankful that she did not have to endure a long painful passing as many cancer patients do. She went peacefully and surrounded by family, including my mom whom she talked to nearly every day and her daughter.

Celebrating 500 Posts on the Galatians419 Blog

By Allen White

Almost two years ago, I started writing daily devotionals. Plugging away at five devotionals per week for 52 weeks per year, I am actually surprised that I haven’t run out of things to say.

Today we celebrate the 500th post. Readers have gone from zero to now 1,209 subscribers with another 6,652 reading directly from the webpage and another 10,210 getting the word through Twitter. I try not to think about all of this when I write. It’s a bit intimidating.

Requests for Prayer

Liz B. (soprano): please pray for her Aunt Karen who is dying from lung cancer. Liz’s mom left for Phoenix Thursday morning to be there with her sister. Liz is thankful most of the family is there with her.

Maretta G. (alto): please continue to pray for Maretta’s mom. She was very near death, but has shown improvement and is now expressing the belief that God wants her to stay longer to care for Maretta’s Dad. Please pray for strength and peace for Maretta and her whole family.

But I trust in you, LORD; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hands… Psalm 31:14-15a (NIV)

Prayer Request

This is a prayer request from Kandy K for Maretta (alto) and Greg (bass).

Just received a call from Maretta G (alto). Her mother, who lives at Rolling Green, had a stroke last week. She has since had a 2nd and is in Greenville Memorial. Her mother has made a decision to go to Heaven and not be in pain here on earth. As of today she cannot swallow or walk. The family will move her into hospice at Rolling Green as soon as space becomes available.
Keep Maretta, Greg and family in your prayers during this time of need.

My new favorite song right now is ‘Blessings’ by Laura Story. She’s the amazing singer- song writer from Spartanburg, SC who wrote ‘Indescribable’. Her lyrics are beautifully poetic and powerful. Here’s a sample from “Blessings”:
What if your blessings come through raindrops? What if your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know you’re near?
What if trials of this life are your mercies in disguise?

Looking forward to seeing all of you guys soon.
Blessings!!

Prayer Request from Kandy K (soprano)

Please pray for Kandy’s niece, Stacey, who lives in Asheville, NC. She had a heart attack last week at the young age of 38. They found a small blood vessel behind her heart that is blocked. For now, they are trying medicine and recommending some life changes which include less stress in her job.

The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 (NLT)

Google+

If you are using Google+, please let me know.  I'd like to add you to my  personal Praise Choir circle.  This is different from a Facebook group in that it's personal and private.  In Google+ we each set up our own circles how ever we want, and they are completely personal.  But I'd like to keep up with what you are posting, and be able to communicate with each other thru +.

Unified in Christ

Hi guys,

I hope you're having a nice summer. I miss you all and just wanted to touch base.

I was listening to Joyce Meyer this morning. (I just love her!) It was an amazing message on the danger of strife in our lives and the power of forgiveness. [I gotta confess... been havin' a little trouble with this one lately. God knew I really needed to hear this message.] Joyce starts by saying that the early church experienced miracles and power because they had a united mind and voice. They had one purpose.

It made me think about all of you. One of the things I really love about our choir family is that we focus not only on having a unified singing voice, but also a unified spiritual voice. It amazes me that in a music ministry the size of ours, we have so little strife. My prayer is that God will preserve that and continue to create in us a unified voice that honors Him and fosters an environment where miraculous blessings can happen.

CLICK HERE to email me if you have prayer requests or praises. Remember to tell me 1) your name 2) voice section 3) prayer or praise 4) and if you want it shared on the blog or kept confidential.

I love y'all,

Sharyn

"I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you." Matthew 18:19 NLT

Miners

These guys are all current or retired miners from Nova Scotia singing about their way of life.  Check out the natural sounding blend and tight ensemble that they have.  I'm impressed.
