Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know a song I've written with my friends Kyle Worsham and Jon Skaggs has been selected to compete in Chris Tomlin's worship songwriting contest at his website, FQWorship.com.

You probably know Chris Tomlin's songs like "How Great Is Our God," "Forever" and the many others that are sung in churches across the world. He has a songwriting contest every year that lasts a few weeks. Each week songs compete, then those winners compete at the end for the grand prize winner. The prize is the chance to be a featured song on their radio station, getting the song out to many worship leaders.

Prayer Requests: Week of 3-7-12

God is with us
God is on our side
He will make a way
Far above all we know
Far above all we hope
He has done great things

Dennis S (tenor): Please pray for a family who are close friends of ours. Their thirty year old son, Marcus, was killed on Monday morning (3-5) in a car accident. His parents are Gaither and Angela L. and his sister is Adrianna. They are like family to me. Our children are like brothers and sisters. His mom and sister attend Brookwood.

Kristin S (soprano): Here is an update on my co-worker Carol B who we’ve been praying for. Carol is scheduled for surgery next Thursday, March 15th at Duke. She has gone through the PET scans and they were clear so that is good. Depending on the extent of the surgery she might remain in the hospital for up to 2 weeks for recovery before going back home. Please pray for a full recovery and for God’s loving hand to continue to hold Carol and her family.

Prayer Requests: Week of 2-29-12

In the stars I see your majesty displayed.

Cecelia H (soprano): UPDATE - Gary G is home from surgery [for cancer], but needs continued prayer for recovery and upcoming radiation. He has been uplifted by your prayers. Please remember him and his parents.

John C (tenor): I was let go from my job 3 ½ weeks ago. Please be praying for God’s direction in finding a new position. And in the interim I am available for window washing and/or dog walking. :)

Allison R (alto): Please pray for my friend Brian – he is searching for a permanent job so he can move out of the shelter he is in. He lost everything in a fire several months ago.
